

Carlos Vives
Carlos Vives is a Colombian musician. He formed a band called La Provincia and began performing vallenato, successfully touring Colombia and South America. Vives released the albums Clásicos de la Provincia in 1993 and La Tierra del Olvido in 1995. He later released Déjame Entrar, which earned him the Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album. Vives went on to release Más + Corazón Profundo and later Cumbiana, which earned him the Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Tropical Album. He has received the Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year for La Bicicleta with Shakira - one of his most popular songs along with Colombia, Mi Encanto and La Gota Fría. Vives created his own label, Gaira, to promote and give an incentive to local artists. He has appeared in the documentaries Carlos Vives: Regreso a Escalona and Shakira In Concert: El Dorado World Tour, as well as the film Carlos Vives: Más + Corazón Profundo Tour: En vivo desde la Bahía de Santa Marta.
