- MAY 2, 2025 Inhale / Exhale Remixed
On Inhale / Exhale Remixed, RÜFÜS DU SOL’s fifth studio album travels from desert dusk into the deeper shadows of the dance floor. The Australian trio previously told Apple Music they’d been pushing the boundaries of their sound on the original, experimenting with tempos and embracing creative risks. With 15 handpicked producers reimagining Inhale / Exhale’s songs, those boundaries continue to expand. Carlita’s remix leads the pack, morphing the atmospheric opener “Inhale” into a rumbling club cut, while Enamour intensifies the devotion of “Lately” with his sleek melodic techno. Softer moments emerge, too: Maxi Meraki’s take on “Music is Better” twinkles like sunrise on an Ibiza club terrace, and Fahlberg’s “New York” remix melts the original’s frost into synth-washed warmth. “Standing at the Gates,” a somber, piano-led reflection, gets the Sofia Kourtesis treatment, layered with rich and intricate textures. Even as RÜFÜS DU SOL’s songs take on new forms, the raw emotion that fuels them is as present as ever.
