Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter. Born in Minnesota in 1941 and later making a name for himself in New York City’s Greenwich Village, he is considered one of the greatest, most influential, and best-selling artists of all time. His run of trailblazing albums over six decades include The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, Bringing It All Back Home,  Blonde On Blonde, Blood On the Tracks, Desire, Time Out of Mind, and Love and Theft. Highway 61 Revisited, released in 1965, was placed at No. 14 on Apple Music's 100 Best Albums list. His most iconic songs include Like a Rolling Stone, Blowin’ In The Wind, Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door, Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right, The Times They Are A-Changin’, and Just Like A Woman.  Dylan received an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2001 for Things Have Changed.

His backing bands throughout his career have included The Band, the Grateful Dead, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Dylan was also a member of the supergroup The Traveling Wilburys along with Tom Petty, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, and Jeff Lynne. He has won numerous Grammy Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award, a Pulitzer Prize in 2008, a National Medal of Arts in 2009, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012, and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1982, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, the Kennedy Center Honors in 1997, and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2002.

Dylan appears in the documentaries Don't Look Back,  Eat the Document, The Last Waltz, Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story, and No Direction Home: Bob Dylan, the latter three of which were directed by Martin Scorsese. Dylan is also an actor and has appeared in Renaldo and Clara, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, Hearts of Fire, and Masked and Anonymous. Movies made about Dylan's life include the fictionalized 2007 film I'm Not There, directed by Todd Haynes, and the 2024 biopic A Complete Unknown, starring Timotheé Chalamet.
