EXTREME
EXTREME is an American rock band formed in Boston in 1985. The four-piece band, made up of vocalist Gary Cherone, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bassist Pat Badger, and drummer Paul Geary, released their debut Extreme in 1989. Its follow-up, Extreme II: Pornograffiti, came out in 1990 and included the ballad More Than Words, which reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 in 1991. In 1992 the band released III Sides to Every Story, which was followed up by Waiting For the Punchline in 1995. Extreme broke up after that album and reunited in 2006, releasing Saudades de Rock in 2008; they went on hiatus in 2010 and pursued other projects, with Bettencourt playing guitar for Rihanna and Cherone forming the band Hurtsmile. After regrouping in the mid-2010s to write and tour, they released Six in 2023.
