George Clooney is an American actor, filmmaker, and activist. His interest in acting was sparked after being cast in a small part in a low-budget movie about horse racing in Kentucky. Clooney won attention for roles on the sitcoms The Facts of Life and Roseanne before achieving his breakthrough starring on the hit NBC medical drama ER from 1994 to 1999.
Clooney has appeared in films such as the Ocean's Eleven franchise, From Dusk till Dawn, Batman & Robin, Up in the Air, Solaris, Gravity, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, which earned him the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Syriana, which won him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture, The Descendants, which won him a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, Michael Clayton, and Argo, which won him the Academy Award for Best Picture and the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Drama. He has also starred in and produced the Apple TV+ film Wolfs.
Clooney has directed The Monuments Men, The Boys in the Boat, and Good Night, and Good Luck, and produced August: Osage County.
